At 320,000tpa throughput, the worlds largest waste autoclaving facility, this is certainly one of the most advanced of the schemes we are currently delivering. The underlying principle is to heat treat the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) to 160C by a rotating steam autoclave, the Rotoclave®, prior to mechanical separation into the various waste component streams. This results in high quality metals and plastics for recycling, and excellent BMW diversion into a “fibre or flock” material. This material can be used for a number of purposes, anaerobically digested, or prepared as a fuel which would meet the requirements for Renewable Obligations Certificates (Rocs) Enpure and Graphite Resources are currently developing the next phase of the project which will use Enpure’s AD technology to raise energy for the autoclaving process..Enpure provided an integrated Rotoclave® “front end” including walking floors, feed conveyors from Vecoplan and a boiler package from Babcock Wanson.. This scheme was undertaken by a new team with a near vertical learning curve & with our new partners, suppliers and licensor for the Rotoclaves® – Tempico
