It was last August when Enpure agreed to become involved in this Wessex Water initiative which is used as a means to increase awareness and support for WaterAid. The scheme is also a unique opportunity for Wessex Water and other local businesses to work together to benefit communities in developing countries as well as the young people in the various sponsor companies.. We at Enpure have been delighted to watch the Business4Life team grow in stature from the launch on 1st September 2008 when they were faced with the daunting task of raising £25,000 (operating profit over 12 months) to their grand finale where the total sum raised was £42,000, a most amazing achievement, this group have definitely raised the fundraising bar.
Within the company we thought long and hard about who we felt would benefit from the management development module Wessex Water were offering but also taking due account of the fact that this person would also have a major contributory role to play in this fictitious company the team were going to have to run and importantly meet the financial targets set. We chose Steven Hyde, one of our Electrical Engineers, who joined the company in 1988 as an apprentice electrical engineer. We are delighted with our choice and would ask you to read Steve’s report on his year
