Enpure’s activities in both water and solid waste have taken us into the energy sector particularly in respect of renewables and energy from waste, EfW.
Power is a major component of wastewater operating costs and we have provided major anaerobic digestion/CHP facilities for many of the UK water companies. In addition our sonix ultrasound technology has been provided both in the UK and internationally to significantly boost biogas production from sewage sludge. Enpure’s process expertise and capability to successfully integrate and deliver overall projects makes us a premier provider of biogas AD systems.
In the solid waste sector for the treatment of residual, commercial & industrial and source segregated organics once again Enpure’s biogas credentials are to the fore. Working with our German licensor BTA, established in the anaerobic digestion/biogas market since 1986, we provide robust integrated solutions with a demonstrable successful track record. In addition Enpure has developed an acid hydrolysis process, Templar, that produces significant additional biogas from digestate residues further reducing disposal volumes which is particularly relevant on residual waste applications.
We are also engaged in the development of energy recovery process, thermal and biological, to extract energy from waste residues like autoclave floc and to provide other fuel sources that meet criteria for Renewable Obligations Certificates or ROCs. Our two projects for the Greater Manchester Waste PFI project produce refuse derived fuel from both plastics and a plastics-digestate mix to meet guaranteed CV and quality specifications for downstream EfW facilities.
Enpure’s process expertise can help make best use of residues from the treatment of solid waste
