North West Water awarded the Amec-Purac Joint Venture a £28M main contract for the new build sewage treatment works (PE180,000) at Bromborough Wastewater Treatment Works in Merseyside.
The JV’s scope comprised new preliminary, primary, secondary and sludge treatment facilities together with a new extended works outfall and included supply, construction, installation, input into commissioning and, once the new plant was on line, the decommissioning of the existing screening plant. It also included certain areas of detailed civil, mechanical and electrical design.
