Water
Prior to the construction of this works, no treatment facilities existed at Eyemouth for the wastewater which is produced by a domestic population of 3,500 and a number of industrial discharges which increase the population equivalent.
The waste water is collected in two discrete sewerage systems and discharges through two short sea outfalls located at Forthill and Gunsgreen.
In order to comply with the East of Scotland Water Watermark Initiative secondary treatment facilities were provided.
