This water treatment works, on behalf of the client Yorkshire Water, provided an additional 35 MLD to the supply area.
To meet local planning requirements, the entire five storey treatment building - 120m x 45m - is located below ground. The site had previously been used for quarrying and is close to the Peak National Park in an area of considerable natural beauty. Those parts of the building that are visible are styled to match the local character and use local materials. Design and landscaping of the site ensured a minimal visual and audible impact on the local environment.
