Dubai Municipality commissioned MWH to provide the emirate of Dubai with a new wastewater and biosolids treatment facility to keep pace with growth in its economy and population anticipated within the next 25 years. Enpure were contracted to design & supply the dewatered cake handling & storage facility, the cake conveying / feeding system to the three streams of thermal dryers, the thermal dryers themselves totalling 10.5 tonnes evaporative capacity - This facility will be the largest belt drying facility in the world. 

Belt drying was the preferred technology due to its simplicity, robustness and excellent safety credentials. Added to this the hygienised product could be used as an effective soil conditioner for future development and desert “greenification”.
