Ratcliffe Power Station.

Industrial

Powergen awarded the contract to install the new high purity water treatment plant in August 2002. Work on site was carried out by Enpure staff and in many cases the power station's existing on site sub-contractors. The plant was commissioned in October 2003 and was producing water within the specified parameters within 2 hours of being started and produced 1000s of cubic meters of water used in the station before handover was completed.

The plant was designed to require minimal man power in comparision to the previous plant and is highly automated. A membrane plant also consumes very little chemicals compared to a conventional Ion Exchange plant.  Both of these factors have reduced the operating costs of the water treatment system at the Power Station.

The process used was Zenon membranes as a pre-filtration process to reverse osmosis membranes.
